Auto Post Tweets to WordPress

Auto Post Tweets to WordPress

Have you ever run across the situation where you want your tweets posted directly to your WordPress blog, but you don’t want to post each tweet manually? Of course, there are plugins floating around that will to this for you, but every plugin you install increases the load on your server and WordPress.com users cannot install plugins.

There is a free online service called IFTTT (if this then that), which can automate tasks on the internet.

Visit ifttt.com/recipes/13273. If you’re new to IFTTT create an account. Otherwise, sign in. You may need to link your Twitter and WordPress accounts to IFTTT to continue.  Once completed, simply click on the ‘Use Recipe’ button.

If you’re having trouble, please post a comment below.

No, sorry I don’t think so. IFTTT checks your channels every 15 minutes.

OK, thanks. While it appears to work the way it’s supposed to, it unfortunately creates a separate post with 1 tweet in each. Is there a way to get it to add tweets to the same post, one below the next? Thanks so much for the reply!

It looks like you’re looking for the functionality offered by a WordPress plugin. IFTTT is a great service with a nice number of channels, but the functionality for each channel is somewhat limited. If you own a self-hosted WordPress blog then you can install a plugin from the WordPress plugin repository.
